KPU is committed to the tireless pursuit of learning, in keeping with the values of the Kwantlen First Nation. KPU supports our Indigenous students through scholarships and awards, including the Tireless Runner Award. Donations may be directed to this award or you may contribute in variety of ways. Band Funding
KPU offers support for students applying to KPU seeking band funding. Please note that band funding applications and deadlines will vary by band. For more information, please contact us.
Aboriginal Entrance Scholarship
Awarded to those registered in a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits per semester in any KPU program.
Criteria:
Applicant must...
- Be a student enrolling at KPU for the first time
- Identify as Indigenous, Aboriginal, First Nations, Metis or Inuit
- Demonstrate leadership, community involvement and volunteerism
- Satisfy one of the following academic requirements:
- 80% average in English 12 and three other academic Grade 12 courses, or
- the equivalent of a 3.67 transfer GPA on a minimum of 24 transferable university credit

BC Housing Bursary
BC Housing is pleased to offer a $1,250 bursary each semester to a student enrolled in a trades program at KPU.
Criteria:
Applicant must...
- Be enrolled in a building trades program which includes:
- Carpentry Construction
- Construction Electrician
- Masonry, Plumbing
- Low Voltage
- Building Envelope Technologies
- Demonstrate financial need and/or must demonstrate that they were not successful in securing a student loan
Preference will be given to a First Nations student and/or a student currently living in a low income situation. The final student recipient will be determined by representatives from KPU.

BC Housing Endowed Scholarship
BC Housing is pleased to offer two $1,750 scholarships to students enrolled in a Faculty of Trades & Technology program at KPU.
Criteria:
Applicant must...
- Be enrolled in a building trades program which includes:
- Carpentry/Building Construction
- Construction Electrician
- Masonry
- Plumbing
- Piping
- Low Voltage
- Demonstrate commitment to their course work
- Show good progress in the course
- Achieve a final CGPA of 2.67 or greater
Preference will be given to First Nations students and/or those with low income.

Husky Energy Scholarship Program for Aboriginal Students
Focused on attracting Indigenous talent to the oil and gas industry, the program provides financial support to students with outstanding academic achievement and connects them with relevant work experience through co-op and summer work terms along with professional development through a mentorship program.
Criteria:
Applicant must...
- Be a Canadian citizen of Indigenous ancestry
- Be entering or already enrolled in full time studies in a first bachelor degree program or first diploma program
- Be in good academic standing over the last 2 terms of available marks

Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society - BC Aboriginal Student Award
Established in 2008 as part of the Provincial Government's strategy to improve Indigenous access and achievement, the purpose of this award is to support Indigenous people in getting post-secondary education by reducing financial barriers and is awarded on a competitive basis.
Criteria:
Applicant must...
- Be of Indigenous ancestry
- Be a British Columbia resident
- Be accepted into an eligible program of study at one of BC’s public post-secondary institutions or Indigenously-controlled institutions
- Be studying in no later than their second year of any eligible program (if that program is longer than two years) by the application deadline
- Be enrolled in full time study in an approved program of study

Pah-EE Memorial Award
Pah-EE was a member of the Douglas First Nation and a long-time leader of the In-SHUCK-ch peoples. He was an honest, hard working individual who was dedicated to seeing things through to the end and who wanted the best for his family and his people. In-SHUCK-ch Nation and Pah-EE's family are proud to announce an award in memory of Pah-EE, the late Mr. Ronald J. Gabriel.
The Pah-EE Memorial Award is available to students enrolled in any of the following KPU Faculties:
- Wilson School of Design
- Faculty of Academic & Career Preparation
- Faculty of Arts
- Faculty of Health
- Faculty of Science
- Faculty of Trades and Technology
- Melville School of Business
Criteria:
Applicant must...
- Be a member of In-SHUCK-ch Nation, which includes Samahquam Nation and Skatin First Nations, along with Douglas First Nation or be a relative of Pah-EE (Ronald J. Gabriel)
- Have a GPA 2.33 or greater
- Show financial need (application must include completed budget form)
- Be active in volunteerism or community service (application must be accompanied by letter of reference for each activity)

Tireless Runner Endowed Award
In the Halq'emeylem language spoken by the Sto:lo people, "Kwantlen" means "Tireless Runner". The Kwantlen First Nation community is pleased and proud to be a part of this presentation.
