EACS Information Sessions

Required for all potential applicants

Attendance at one of our EACS Information Sessions is the best place to get your questions answered.

As this is the first step in the application process we recommend that the potential student and anyone else who will be interested in supporting a student attend one of our EACS Information Sessions.  We offer both virtual information sessions and in-person sessions.  Please click on the link below "Attend Info Session" to find out when and where they will be hosted.

INFORMATION SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE.  REGISTER BELOW.

It is important that you do not delay in attending an Information Session as there are four other important application steps to be taken following attendance, and these may take time to complete.

The Deadline for Spring 2025 Applications is November 1st.  If you wish to start classes in January, please contact us immediately.

If you have further questions following the info session, call either our Access Programs Department Assistant, Malvis Okika at 604-599-3095 or email us at apd@kpu.ca . You can also contact our the Future Students Office at 604-599-3030, or connect directly with the Student Recruitment Coordinator, Brooks Lewis at 604-599-3101, brooks.lewis@kpu.ca who can help you with other course enquiries.

Program Details

Since 1981 KPU has offered an Accessible Education and Training (AET) (formerly known as Adult Special Education (ASE)) program focused on employability skill development and career exploration. The former program was called Access Program for People with Disabilities. Every year over 60 APPD students have taken either – Job Preparation, Work Exploration, or Vocational Skills Training.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic this hands-on experiential program moved to operate online. This change made it possible to redesign how ASE was offered. EACS is the new program, still with a focus on employability skill development but with a broader range of courses that focus on lifelong learning and community engagement as well.

We now offer both on-campus courses at three of our KPU campuses:  Langley, Richmond and Surrey and some online courses.
