The KPU Melville School of Business is proud to partner with community projects which support the engaged and applied learning in our classrooms!
Industry Team Initiative
The Industry Team Initiative (ITI) is a great fit for projects or extra support needed in a business. Industry partners can hire a single student or a small team (up to three students) to undertake a specific project.
The Industry Partner with the support of the University (Melville School of Business) will define the requirements for the project and the team required to ensure that employers find the right support and students are expose to relevant learning opportunities. We will help you find the right talent! Part-time work can be considered in specific subject areas.
ITI projects or roles can be available in: Accounting, Technical Management & Services, Operation & Supply Chain Management, Global Business Management, Green Business Management and Sustainability.
Partners-in-Business
The Surrey Board of Trade (SBoT) and Kwantlen Polytechnic University's Melville School of Business have partnered to create the Partners-in-Marketing program. The program provides local SBoT members the opportunity to work with motivated students and experienced faculty in solving their marketing problems.
Students learn from "real world" marketing situations and SBoT members can receive analysis and recommendations on how best to address their marketing needs. The student teams are supervised by expert faculty with extensive industry and educational backgrounds.
Members can apply to work with faculty led student teams on a variety of projects including:
- Developing a marketing plan
- Conducting market research
- Creating an integrated marketing communications program
- Conducting an overall marketing assessment and consulting plan
Law School Forum
The Law School Forum is a half-day event held annually at KPU in early November that brings together KPU students and faculty as well as representatives from British Columbia's law schools to share information about obtaining a legal education and pursuing a career in law. Presentations address the admission criteria, application processes and program features of BC's law schools. The keynote speaker is a KPU alumnus and law school graduate who typically describes their journey from KPU to law school and beyond as well as offering insight and advice to students considering a legal education and career. The 2024 Law School Forum will be hosted online on Monday, November 4 at 1:30pm PST.
