Areas of Interest

Dr. Matsuba’s previous research has focused on the moral personality and identity of individuals engaged in extraordinary endeavours. His recent work has considered personality factors associated with volunteering. Currently, he is exploring the lives of environmental activists.

Dr. Matsuba has also studied the lives of at-risk children, and the changes in well-being associated with participating in intervention programs. His past work studied the social contexts of youth living in urban poverty and the behavioural consequences. He is currently working with The Hawn Foundation to help institute mindfulness practices with children living in post-conflict northern Uganda.
