KPU assists exchange students with their course selection and approval, and registration.
Generally exchange students are only permitted to take courses that are classified as open intake admission type areas of study. Closed intake admission type areas of study do not typically admit exchange students for courses, however exchange students studying an area of design at their home institution are welcome to request courses in the closed intake admission type areas of study related to Design. Permission to take design classes are granted based on the demonstration of knowledge, skill and experience fit of the design student applying. For more details on the type of admission for each subject, please visit this page.
Here are some instructions on the process of choosing classes for your exchange semester:

- Go to the Course Timetable site to get an idea of what courses have been offered during a particular semester in the past. Actual course offerings are not released until a few months prior to the start of the semester.
- Fill in the Course Approvals section of your online application with courses you are interested in taking.
- Receive an email indicating which courses you have been approved for and your registration date and time.
- Once the timetable for your semester has been released, plan your course timetable.
- Register online through Online Self Service. For instructions and assistance with online registration, please watch this video.
Note: Students are advised to make their selections carefully and within the recommended deadlines as changes outside of these times are very challenging.
