Family Childcare (English)

Program

This part-time program prepares you to work effectively with young children and to set up a business at your home. The core courses are

offered as evening classes, with the exception of 9 five-hour Saturdays. The program, to be completed within one year, consists of 154 hours of instruction including practicum. After successful completion of all program components, students will receive a Kwantlen

University College Continuing Education Certificate of Completion. Handouts and supplied included in fee. Note: Childcare Licensing Branch of South Fraser Health Region, and Western Canada Family Childcare Association and University College of the Fraser Valley recognize this program.

Admission Requirements

Students must meet the following requirements.

Good understanding of written and spoken English ( class discussion and written assignments are required).

Completion of the application form.

Interview with the program coordinator.

Successful completion of the orientation questionnaire.

Successful completion of criminal record check.

Grade 12 or mature student.
