Introduction to Auto/Industrial Upholstery Trimming
Students will be introduced to the skills, materials and procedures of the auto-trim trade. They will learn to safely operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and hand and power tools in a simulated work environment of the automotive and industrial upholstery trade. Students will use trade terminology in identifying trim supplies and manufacturers of body styles of cars and trucks. They will also identify WHMIS and the proper use of its data sheets and safety procedures.
Automotive Door Panels
Students will learn to customize, restore and repair automobile door panels. They will learn selection, estimation and ordering procedures of materials and components. Students will also learn and apply the criteria to evaluate the quality of workmanship and materials.

Auto and Industrial Seats-Basics
Students will learn to repair and restore seats in automobiles and industrial vehicles. They will also learn to select materials used in covering seats, to disassemble and assemble automobile seats, and to make a replacement cover.
Prerequisites: UPHA 1102
Automotive Carpets
Students will identify and select carpet materials, remove carpets and underlay, repair floors, pattern cut and sew and install new underlay and carpet. They will use appropriate trade terminology, perform clerical duties and evaluate the quality of their workmanship and materials.

Automotive Headliners
Students will identify and select headliner materials, remove, fabricate and replace automotive and industrial headliners. They will fabricate the headliners to custom or manufacturers’ specification.
Prerequisites: UPHA 1105
Automotive Vinyl Tops
Students will remove, fabricate and install automotive vinyl tops. They will identify and select vinyl top materials and padding.
