The Accounting Diploma program prepares students for entry-level accounting positions and many of its courses can be transferred to professional accounting associations (CA, CGA, or CMA). In addition the Accounting Diploma may be used as the first two years of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting.
The Accounting Diploma program is a two-year program. However, students may complete the program on a part-time basis over a longer period of time. Evening courses are also available.
During the program students progress through basic accounting concepts and procedures to more advanced topics such as financial accounting, management accounting, finance, taxation and auditing. There are also courses in related subjects such as economics, computerized business systems, marketing and management. Required English and Mathematics courses ensure that students have the necessary skills in these important areas.
There will always be a need for individuals who can provide accurate and timely financial data to managers, investors and creditors. As computers, government, inflation, unions and a shrinking world make the business environment more complex, the demand for these information professionals will grow. The Accounting programs prepare graduates for a career in this area.
Financial Managers are not restricted to any specific type of industry, management level or country. All organizations have financial information processing needs.
Future financial management careers include:
-
Auditors
