General Kwantlen admission requirements apply.
Students wishing to complete the Fine Arts Diploma in two years can apply for the Priority Registration option. Up to twenty students will be accepted for this option. These students must commit to registering for a full course load (5 courses) per semester and maintain a 2.0 GPA. Priority registration will be granted to these 20 students.
Admission to this option will be based on a successful portfolio presentation and interview conducted in early May. Entry will be for the fall semester only.
Applicants must telephone the Fine Arts Coordinator at 604.599.2224, (v-mail 9160) by the middle of April to arrange to deliver their portfolio to the department. A team of fine art instructors will review the portfolios. The department will telephone applicants if they are to be interviewed.
A student’s portfolio should consist of a maximum of 20 pieces. A sketchbook is an important element to include, as it is indicative of your creative process. Students should choose works that reflect a diversity of techniques and subject matter. For example, your selections may include drawings, paintings, sculptures, design, printmaking, photographs, ceramics, and video. It is not necessary for the work to be framed or mounted. Works that are too large or fragile to transport can be documented digitally or photographically as slides or prints.
