This concentration provides a broad education in music, integrating theoretical, historical, and performance studies while enabling students to master the skills needed for a wide array of professions. The core curriculum consists of 30 credits that the student supplements with a further 30 credits drawn from music and/or academic electives. Through a careful choice of electives, this concentration can lead to further study in liberal arts, music therapy, music education, business and arts management.

Depending on the student’s performance level, study on the principal instrument will be either as a Major Instrument Concentration or Major Instrument – Secondary level.
The remaining 30 credits may be taken from any other diploma-level music courses (MUSI 1155 and higher), MUSI 1102 – Music and Computers, MUSI 1202 – The Business of Music and/or any academic courses offered at Kwantlen.
Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded a Diploma in Music - General Studies.
