Business Administration Diploma

DESCRIPTION

Graduates are eligible for direct entry into the third year of Kwantlen’s Bachelor of Business Administration Degree.

This diploma program also prepares students for the third year of the Business Administration Program at Simon Fraser University (SFU). It should be noted that the completion of a Kwantlen diploma does not guarantee admission to SFU.

Admission requirements are set and administered by SFU. As university GPA and admission requirements are reviewed annually, students are advised to stay current by consulting with SFU advisors.

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

General Admission requirements apply.

Students wishing to complete the program without having to undertake any preparatory courses must enter with English 12 with a B grade or better, or equivalent and Principles of Math 12 with a C+ grade or better, or equivalent.

Note: As a continuation requirement students will be required to complete MATH 12 Principles with a C+ grade or better in order to take some required courses for the program.

No more than three courses (including courses listed under Required Courses) from any one discipline may be applied toward this requirement.

Suggested Electives

Four additional electives for a total of sixty (60) credits to complete the diploma.

When making your choice, consider that the following suggested courses are prerequisites or introductions for some of the required courses within this diploma:

• BUSI 1110 Fundamentals of Business in Canada
• CBSY 1105 Introductory Microcomputer Applications
• MATH 1112 Pre-Calculus Algebra

Other business-oriented courses that provide a good foundation for more advanced courses are:

• CMNS 1140 Business and Technical Communication: Theory and Application
• MRKT 1235 Small Business Essentials
• MATH 1240 Calculus II (Business Applications)
• MRKT 1199 Introduction to Marketing

Note: The combination of ACCT 1110 and 1210 transfers to SFU as three credits only. Students who choose this option should be aware that although they will have completed the requirements for a diploma in Business Administration, they would have only 57 transferable credits, if the additional ACCT course was also used to fulfill an elective requirement.

GRADUATION

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be awarded a Diploma in Business Administration.
