Description
The purpose of this program is to provide students with skills and knowledge in the subject area of automotive service technician. This program is appropriate for students entering the industry on a permanent basis.
Hands-on shop experience is the basis from which skills are developed in the program. This program is developed around the individual needs of students and these needs will determine the length of the student's time in the program. The program is designed to accommodate past experience: credit and/or advancement will take place if students can demonstrate learned skills, and theoretical knowledge. This format will permit students who have completed shop training in secondary schools to apply these credits to Kwantlen's program.
Admission Requirements
- Grade 10 reading comprehension and math skills as assessed by Kwantlen.
- Satisfactory physical health.
- Students will require appropriate steel-toed safety shoes or boots.
Content
This program is offered Monday through Friday on a continuous intake basis. The content has been organized into modules to ensure maximum flexibility for individualized training.

Graduation
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be awarded a Certificate in Automotive Service Technician.
