Last year, all National Portfolio Day events were 100% online. To kick off the 2021 year, 6 new Virtual Portfolio Day events have been scheduled for the Winter/Spring season.
For students interested in pursuing a post-secondary education in art or design, the 2021 National Portfolio Day Winter/Spring events will provide more access than ever before.

What to include in a portfolio?
- Choose 10-15 pieces to share
- These could include finished work, work in progress, sketchbook ideas etc…
- Our goal is to get a sense of your skills and the way you think
- It is often more valuable for our team to get a sense of how you arrived at a certain ‘finished’ idea, show us your process and “mistakes”, even if your project didn't work out
- Before the virtual session, practice explaining how you develop your ideas, articulating where you want to go with those ideas, and sharing the process of arriving at the completed work
Why attend?
If you’re thinking of pursuing a post-secondary education in art or design, you will likely have to include a portfolio of your work, as part of your application. All NPDA (National Portfolio Day Association) member schools (that’s us!) are accredited art or design universities and colleges. Portfolio Day events provide students with a unique opportunity to meet one on one with professional representatives.
These reps are there for you to ask questions about their programs, and most importantly, get feedback on how to improve your portfolio so it will be a successful part of your application. And this year, you won’t have to stand in long in-person line-ups!
Who can attend?

At the Undergraduate Portfolio Events: Attendees are students who are currently in high school or have graduated and are looking to enter a university or college program.

Parents/Teachers/Counsellors/Other
We know that students have many kinds of supporters, and we welcome them all. We encourage non-students to attend, visit our virtual booth and other member schools and download/view any relevant information.
Feel free to chat with one of our team who will be happy to answer any questions you may have about our programs.
