Is your work killing you?alumni walking

Stress is a growing problem among employees, with a recent survey showing that about eight in 10 workers report feeling stressed by something at work. Stress is often caused by the volume of work that is requested, the velocity of those tasks and working conditions.

Writing in The Potentiality, Kurt Heinrich notes that stress doesn’t have to control you; instead, you can control stress simply by talking, laughing, taking a walk and being realistic about what you can accomplish.

Heinrich is public relations manager for the Vancouver School Board, managing editor and partner at The Potentiality and communications chair for the Vancouver chapter of the Canadian Public Relations Society.
