Hate writing? Hate reading? That’s ok—we can work with that. Although you may not LOVE either of these tasks after taking an upgrading course, you will likely come away with a newfound appreciation for both (I’ll hold out for love, though). In my humble opinion, reading and writing are transformative and life-affirming activities and learning how to do both well should be on everyone’s bucket list. I teach all levels of our English upgrading courses as well as in the Continuous Intake classroom. My students will tell you that I adore research papers, current events, silly jokes, and all things nerdy. My areas of interest include gender studies, cultural studies, and contemporary literary theory.
