In 1998, I began teaching English Language Studies at KPU after working in immigrant settlement programs for several years. My main goal as an instructor has been to empower students to take control of their language learning by recognizing difficulties and practising strategies for success. My graduate training in educational psychology and English language acquisition as well as my interests in motivation, critical thinking, communication, and social issues have all contributed to my work with English language students at KPU.
