André Luiz Gomes Machado

André Luiz Machado is an award-winning composer who has been working internationally within music for film, TV, stage, games, and the concert hall. As a composer and producer, he has received awards in Los Angeles, Hollywood, Berlin, Brazil, including a nomination at the International Sound and Film Music Festival in Croatia, and screening at the prestigious Festival de Cannes.
Some of his most recent works include the original score for the Brazilian feature film "As Verdades" (The Truths), directed by José Eduardo Belmonte and produced by Gullane and Globo Films, and the game Josh Journey: Darkness Totems, by Província Studio, which was released for all major consoles in 2022. Currently he also works as a singer and composer in residency at Laudate Singers in North Vancouver, besides teaching voice, keyboard harmony and composition at the Vancouver International School of Music and the Tri-City School of Music.
He has a strong interest in the research of unique concepts while being blending music technology, world music, images and orchestral sounds on his scores or also while writing for the concert hall. Researching innovative and creative approach to music creation also guides his teaching philosophy, using music technology and visuals to bring music together without borders.
