Keynote Speaker
Dr. Gillian Creese (UBC): "Migration, Gender and Identity Across Generations"
Gillian Creese is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include migration, racialization and gender; equity issues in work and trade unions; and feminist research methods. Her most recent books include The New African Diaspora in Vancouver: Migration, Exclusion and Belonging (University of Toronto Press, 2011), and (with Wendy Frisby) Feminist Community Research: Case Studies and Methodologies (University of British Columbia Press, 2011).
The 2nd Annual Sociology Undergraduate Student Conference focuses on intersectional analyses of social, cultural, economic, and political issues from multidisciplinary perspectives.
