KPU Eagles Media Release Julie King named KPU Eagles head women’s soccer coach

Metro Vancouver, BC - The KPU Eagles department of recreation and athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Julie King as the head coach of the varsity women’s soccer program. King, a native of Liverpool, England is the Technical Director for women’s soccer with the Fraser Valley Football Club (Langley, BC). King is a graduate of John Moores University, in Liverpool, with a degree in Coaching Science. She also holds a post graduate certificate in coaching science from John Moores. Julie earned her Provincial “B” License in December, 2012, and her English F.A. level 2 in December, 2005.

She is enrolled in the Canadian Soccer Association “B” License course in May, 2014. Julie brings 15 plus years of experience coaching female student-athletes in high performance programs at universities, clubs and provincial levels on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Julie’s position at KPU commences immediately as she prepares the team for its 12th varsity season as a member of the PACWEST conference within the CCAA. “I am very happy Julie has accepted our offer to guide the Eagles. Julie will be an asset to our department and I look forward to working with her,” said David Kent.

Assistant Coaches Joan McEachern, Brittany McNeill and Amelia Ng will return to the Eagles in 2014-15 giving KPU a strong coaching staff for the fall regular season.
