English Language Training 1
This is the first level of a six level English language training program offered by the English Language Training Department. The course integrates all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. In this course, students will develop a lower beginner’s level of competence in these four skills by participating in a variety of in-class communicative learning tasks and completing reading and writing assignments. The primary focus of this six level program is to provide students with fundamental English skills that enable them to communicate in everyday situations and prepare them for further course work in English for academic purposes.
Prerequisites: Assessed as Level 1 on ENLT Placement Test
English for Appliance Servicing I
Students will develop their English communication skills while demonstrating their understanding of appliance theory, technical terminology, diagnostic procedures, and the appliance industry.
Prerequisites: Grade C in EASL 0055 or SLEP 48-54 or TOEFL 450-500 or cb-TOEFL 133-173

Beginner Listening and Speaking
Students in this course will develop beginner-level listening and speaking skills through conversational activities. They will also work on basic grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. This course forms the listening and speaking component of an integrated skills program.
Prerequisites: Completion of ENLT 0101 or an assessment score of Level 2 on ENLT Placement Test, or permission of instructor

English for Appliance Servicing II
Students will learn about customer service, job search skills, and workplace communications while developing the English language skills required for success in Appliance Servicing.
Prerequisites; ENLT 0192 with a min. grade of B-.
Intensive Engl. Language Training 3
Students in this full-time course will learn and practice all four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The primary focus of this course is on lower intermediate functional English for everyday communication.
Prerequisites: Completion of ENLT 0200 or an assessment score of Level 3 on ENLT Placement Test.
Upper Beginner Listening and Speaking
Students in this course will develop upper beginner-level listening and speaking skills through conversational activities. They will also work on basic grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. This course forms the listening and speaking component of an integrated skills program.
Prerequisites: Completion of 0201, or an assessment score of Level 3 on ENLT Placement Test, or permission of instructor.

English for Employment Readiness
Students will acquire practical English skills necessary to participate in employment-related training programs. By completing a variety of language learning activities and assignments, students will develop the vocabulary, communication, writing and research skills required for employment readiness.
Prerequisites: ENLT 0300 (or 0310; or 0031; 0032 and 0033) or ENLT Placement Test score of Level 4 or higher.
Intensive Engl. Language Training 5

The primary focus of this course is lower advanced general English proficiency for everyday communication. However, it also prepares students for further course work in English for academic purposes.
