Access Programs for People with
Disabilities
(Formerly Adult Special Education-ased)
APPD 0021
Career Awareness
Students with various disabilities will explore a variety of
vocational options through combining vocationally oriented
classroom instruction with work experience. They will increase
their awareness of the number of vocational options available to
them.
Prerequisites: Completion of Structured Screening Process
APPD 0031
Job Preparation
Students with various disabilities will explore vocational
opportunities through combining vocationally oriented classroom
instruction with work experience. They will participate in
supervised work experiences.

APPD 0210
VST: Childcare Aide Option
Students with various disabilities will explore vocational
opportunities in the childcare field by combining classroom
instruction with participation in supervised work-experience
placements in childcare facilities, while supported by APPD
Vocational Skills Training staff. They will prepare to qualify for the
"responsible adult" as defined in the Child Care Facility Act.
Corequisites: CHLD,CTFC: all components of Family Childcare Program
APPD 0230
VST: Clerical Assistant Program
Students with varying disabilities will explore vocational
opportunities in the field of business technology by combining
classroom instruction with participation in supervised work-
experience placements in various businesses, while supported by
APPD Vocational Skills Training staff.
Students with varying disabilities will acquire basic skills and
knowledge to work as an automotive assistant by participating in
training programs at selected sites, while supported by APPD
Vocational Skills Training staff. They will also explore vocational
opportunities through combining vocational-related classroom and
shop instruction with supervised work experience placements.
Prerequisites: Completion of Structured Screening Process. Drivers licence class
5 minimum.
Corequisites: Must register half-time in Automotive Service Technician
Program (AMCH) and complete.
APPD 0250
VST: Food Services Assistant
Students with varying disabilities will acquire basic skills and
knowledge to work in the food services industry by participating in
training programs at selected sites, while supported by APPD
Vocational Skills Training staff. They will also explore vocational
opportunities through combining vocational-related classroom
instruction with supervised work experience placements.
APPD 1210
VST (Richmond): Janitorial Assistant
This program is a modified Building Service Worker program for
adults with special needs. It provides students with the basic skills
and knowledge required for a janitorial assistant position.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the APPD screening process
APPD 1240
VST: Light Warehousing Assistant
This program is a modified Light Warehousing program for adults
with special needs. It provides students with the basic skills and
knowledge required for a Light Warehousing assistant position.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the APPD screening process
Corequisites: Successful completion of APPD 1205 (Modified TRAC
Course).
