Applied Science
Introduction to Engineering
Students will observe the practice of engineering through a series
of seminars and field trips conducted by working engineers. They
will cover work done in various engineering disciplines, but focus
on particular industries rather than specific disciplines.
Note: Student must be registered in the Applied Science program and must have
completed or must be registered in at least two of the math or science courses of
the Applied Science program.
Introduction to Engineering Graphics
This course will cover technical sketching, orthographic projection,
visualization in three dimensions and conventions of engineering
drawing. Micro-computer based graphics (AutoCAD) will be
introduced and used extensively. The principles of descriptive
geometry will be applied to the solution of space problems. This
course is designed for students intending to transfer to an
Engineering program.
Prerequisites:
MATH 1112 (or higher level) or Mathematics 12 (with a C or
better)
