Introduction to Furniture Upholstery
This course provides the student with theory and practice in foam and fabric estimating. The student will also acquire the fundamental skills in handling fabric, padding and foam as practiced in a variety of furniture industries.
Furniture Upholstery II
This course provides training in the fundamental theory and practice of frame and spring systems, wood finishing, cushions, tufting and other fabric related skills.
Prerequisites: UPHF 1101 or permission of instructor
Furniture Upholstery III
This intermediate course teaches the procedures of tufts and flutes, fabric identification, fabric variations and custom layout.
Prerequisites: UPHF 1102 or permission of instructor
Furniture Upholstery IV
This advanced course provides theory and practice in technical sewing methods, stitching, pleating and vinyl/leather upholstering.
Prerequisites: UPHF 1103 or permission of instructor
Furniture Upholstery V
In this final course manual skills are refined to industrial standards; trimming, finishing and advanced fabric selection and coordination skills are developed. In-shop sales, pricing and in-shop business practices complete this course.
