Appliance Servicing

In this nine-month program, students will learn to service household appliances. The training prepares the graduate for employment in the appliance industry and in related careers that require electromechanical skills and knowledge. Students who complete the Entry Level Trades Training (ELTT) are eligible for credit for first year apprenticeship technical training. Employment opportunities in this field may be found with department stores, factory service outlets, independent service shops and authorized service depots. Outside of appliance servicing, opportunities are available with companies who service electromechanical products. Many graduates have started their own businesses. To enhance employment, graduates may require a driver’s license, and may need to be bondable.

Students must meet either the regular student admission category or the mature student admission category in addition to the following:

Due to the nature of this program, students should have satisfactory physical health.

Students will require steel-toed safety shoes, a multimeter, and various other tools.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be awarded a Certificate in Appliance Servicing.
