CARPENTRY / BUILDING CONSTRUCTION CITATION
The program has a duration of 24 weeks where students will cover First Year theory for the Carpentry Apprenticeship. The practical portion of the program will develop skills to use hand tools, power tools, and construct residential framing and concrete formwork projects. The scope and depth of this program is appropriate for students entering industry on a permanent basis.
The content is organized into modules to ensure an organized approach to develop safety skills, and tool operating skills. This program is offered Monday through Friday. Students who complete the Entry Level Trades Training (ELTT) are eligible for credit for first year apprenticeship technical training. Students must meet either the regular student admission category or the mature student admission category in addition to the following:

Interview with instructor

Satisfactory physical health

Adequate reading comprehension and math skills as assessed by Kwantlen

Completion of high school shop courses would be an asset.

Students will require appropriate safety wear in conformance with Workers’ Compensation Board regulations. A list of required tools will be provided by Admissions prior to starting this program.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be awarded a Citation in Carpentry/Building Construction.
