WELDING LEVELS C, B AND A TICKETS
The Level C program provides students with the skills and knowledge to become competent welders upon successful completion of all the modules. Students will develop the necessary habits concerning safety and the proper use of time and materials necessary as competent welders in today’s market.
The Level B program provides more advanced welding skills, techniques and theory components than Level C. For registration at the B Level, training time and work experience must equal a minimum of one year.
The Level A program provides the welder with the broadest base of skills and knowledge, and students completing this level of training should be prepared to work in any industrial environment requiring welding. For registration at the A Level, training time and work experience must equal a minimum of one year.
These programs are offered Monday through Friday.

Graduates of Kwantlen’s welding programs are in demand by industry. Welders are employed in manufacturing, fabrication shops, forestry, mining, petrochemical, transportation, and marine industries.
Students must meet either the regular student admission category or the mature student admission category in addition to the following:
-
Adequate reading comprehension and math skills as assessed by Kwantlen
-
Satisfactory physical health
-
Level B requires completion of level C training
-
Level A requires completion of level B training
-
Interview by an instructor
Students with mental or physical impairments who may require program or practicum accommodations, should contact the Program Coordinator at 604.599.2912 to discuss required skills and competencies, and a Disability Advisor at 604.599.3233 to ensure appropriate accommodations can be arranged.
Hands-on shop experience is the basis on which skills are developed in the program. The program is designed to accommodate past experience; credit and/or advancement will be given to students who can demonstrate learned skills plus theoretical knowledge. Levels are completed in the order of C, B, and A. The course content is organized into modules to ensure maximum flexibility. There are two types of modules in the welding program. Practical Modules (P-Modules) deal with the actual practices and theory of welding processes and Related Knowledge Modules (RK-Modules) deal with theoretical knowledge required to gain employment as a welder.
