The Computer Information Systems Certificate Program offers a unique practitioner-oriented approach to systems support and software development. Computer Information Systems courses are offered by the Computing Sciences and Information Systems department.

Students in the Computer Information Systems Certificate Full-time Program cohort who wish to complete their program in the shortest possible time must complete the following courses in the order prescribed below:
Semester 1 (Complete all of):
1Note: Students may earn credits for only one of ACCT 1230 or BUQU 1230.
Semester 2 (Complete all of):
*Note: Students accepted into the CISY program prior to September 2010 and who have taken CISY 2311 can use CISY 2311 instead of CISY 2411 to meet program requirements.
The courses outlined above will be scheduled as a full-time cohort that begins each Fall. Effective September 2010, the above cohort of courses will be mandatory. At this time, it is possible to complete the certificate using ANY 3 of the following courses as the non-CISY requirements:
Note: Courses are offered at Surrey campus on a full-time basis. It is important to ensure work and personal schedules can accommodate the posted schedule times prior to committing to the program.
Pursuing the Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology Degree Program
Upon completion of the Computer Information Systems Certificate (CISY) program, students should consider pursuing the BTECH (IT) degree program to strengthen their IT skills, broaden their career options, and to better their career prospects. Students can study part-time for the BTECH (IT) program because all courses are offered in evening, late afternoon or weekend time slots.

CISY Certificate graduates entering the 3rd year of the program must meet the following admission requirements:
Completion of Kwantlen's CISY Certificate plus an additional 30 credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7. Graduates of the Certificate program have already completed three of the four required bridging courses; therefore, the additional 30 credits must include:
Upon successful completion of this program, students are awarded a Certificate in Computer Information Systems.
