Appliance Servicing with English as an Additional Language

Upon successful completion of this program students are awarded a Certificate in Appliance Servicing with English as an Additional Language

Description

This course will provide students with an introduction to the reading, writing, listening and speaking skills necessary to support their studies in Appliance Servicing. The training prepares the graduate for employment in the appliance industry and in related careers which require electromechanical skills and knowledge.

Career Opportunities

Employment opportunities in this field may be found with department stores, factory services outlets, independent service shops, authorized service depots and self-employment. Many graduates have started their own business. Outside of appliance servicing, opportunities are available with companies who service electromechanical products.

Prerequisites

C - EASL 0093/0094 or EASL 0055 or SLEP 48 - 54 or TOEFL 450 - 500, math skills as assessed by Kwantlen and satisfactory physical health.

Admission Requirements

Steel-toed safety shoes, a multimeter, and various other tools are required. To gain employment, graduates will probably need a driver's license, and may need to be bondable.
