Personal Care Skills for Resident CareStudents will acquire skills in providing personal care aimed at maintaining and promoting the comfort, safety, and independence of residents in continuing care settings.
Corequisites: RCAR 1220Students will be introduced to the Continuing Care System and the legal, ethical, and professional roles and responsibilities of the Resident Care Attendant.

Clinical PracticeStudents will practice skills and apply theory while giving care to residents in continuing care facilities. They will also begin to develop effective working relationships.

Changes in Mental FunctioningStudents will explore in both classroom theory and clinical practice, concepts and approaches applicable to the care of individuals experiencing changes in mental functioning.
Corequisites: RCAR 1220RCAR 1300 cr-4
Resident Care Attendant PracticumStudents will consolidate knowledge and skills and prepare for assuming the responsibilities of an employee, during a full time placement in a continuing care setting.
Prerequisites: HSCI 1100 and 11201140 and RCAR 1201 and 1210 and 1220 and 1231
