Basic Electricity
CPSY 100 is an introduction to the fundamental principles of electricity and the operation of passive electrical components and circuits. The course focuses on the development of analytical skills needed in troubleshooting electrical circuits. Safe work practices are also covered.
Prerequisites: General University College admission requirements plus grade 10 reading comprehension as assessed by Kwantlen and C+ or better in Mathematics 12, or MATH 1112, or equivalent on a University College math assessment. Physics 12 or equivalent would be an asset.

CPSY 1101 is an introduction to the fundamental principles of electronics and the operation of active electronic components and circuits. The course focuses on the development of analytical skills needed in troubleshooting electronic circuits.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of CPSY 1100 or equivalent.
CPSY 1102 cr-7
Digital Electronics
CPSY 1102 is a two-part comprehensive introduction to the principals and techniques of digital electronics. In the first part, the operation of combinational and sequential logic circuits will be covered. In the second part, the operation of microcomputer support IC's will be covered. The course focuses on the development of analytical skills needed in troubleshooting digital electronic circuits.

Introduction to Microprocessors
CPSY 1103 is an introduction to the fundamental principles of microprocessor operation. Programming and interfacing of some currently used microprocessors will be covered. An introduction to the use and programming of a typical personal computer, data conversion and the introduction to fibre optics will also be covered. The course focuses on the development of analytical skills needed in troubleshooting microprocessor-based circuits.

CPSY 1200 provides practical training in the installation, service and repair of personal computer systems and components

CPSY 1201 provides practical training in the installation, service and upgrading of commonly used personal computer networks.
