Description:

Wear Your Pride! – Join Us on National Coming Out Day, October 11

Did you know Wednesday, October 11th is the 35th anniversary of National Coming Out Day? Originally established to commemorate the March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights, Coming Out Day now honours the beauty and courage of 2SLGBTQIA+ people all over the world who live openly and authentically in the face of hostility and danger. You can find information about National Coming Out Day and why it's still important by clicking on this link.

The KPU Pride Advocacy Group, Pride Society student group, and Pride Peers would like to invite all 2SLGBTQIA+ KPU students, employees, and allies to come out and join us in celebrating this day next Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Surrey Courtyard. Stop by our information booth for special order Pride-themed cookies and to learn more about KPU's efforts to support 2SLGBTQIA+ communities! We will also be hosting a campus-wide scavenger hunt, with winners receiving new KPU Pride t-shirts and/or rainbow lanyards as prizes! And we encourage everyone—including folx who aren't able to get to Surrey that day—to wear your best Pride gear and colours to show KPU's support across all our campuses!

Hope to see you there!
