About the Event:

*KPU International hosts this event for all students, staff and faculty members

Join us for a captivating cultural experience at the Diwali Fair, organized by KPU International. Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights, is one of the most significant festivals in Indian culture, and our event offers an engaging opportunity to learn, celebrate, and connect with the vibrant traditions associated with this festival.

Event Highlights:

  • Discover the Essence of Diwali: Immerse yourself in the customs and rituals of Diwali, and gain a deeper understanding of this culturally significant celebration.
  • Engaging Activities: Partake in a variety of exciting activities, including fun games, and immerse yourself in the art of decorating diyas. In compliance with fire safety regulations, we will not be using real oil and candle wicks. Instead, you can engage in a hands-on arts and crafts activity by painting your own diyas, which you can then take home as a beautiful keepsake. Additionally, for those who wish to illuminate their diyas on the spot, we will provide LED candle lights.
  • Indulge in Complimentary Treats: Savor a taste of Diwali with complimentary treats.
  • Capture Memories: Visit our photo station to capture lasting memories of the event.
  • Henna and Caricature Art: Adorn your hands with beautiful henna designs and have caricature pictures created by our professional artists.

Event Guidelines:

  • Respectful Behavior: We kindly request all attendees to treat fellow participants with respect and courtesy. Anyone found in violation of KPU's student code of conduct will be asked to leave the event to ensure a pleasant experience for all.
  • Patience Appreciated: Some activities may require waiting in line. We appreciate your patience and understanding, as this will help make the event run smoothly and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate.
  • Photo Station Etiquette: When using our photo station, please be considerate of fellow students waiting in line. Make room for others and keep the process enjoyable for everyone.
  • Personal Belongings: We do not have the means to store personal belongings, so we kindly ask that you keep your items with you at all times. KPU International does not assume responsibility for lost or misplaced items.

Who Can Attend: This event is open to everyone, including staff, faculty, and students. Registration is not required. However, due to the capacity limitations of the Spruce Atrium, we cannot guarantee that all attendees will have the opportunity to complete all activities. We encourage students who traditionally celebrate Diwali to share their knowledge and experiences with others, fostering cultural understanding and unity.

Join us for an unforgettable Diwali Fair on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm, at KPU Surrey's Spruce Atrium, where cultures come together in celebration. Your participation is essential in making this event a harmonious and enriching experience for all. We look forward to seeing you there!
