(Tue May 15 2018) - KPU Faculty of Health attended two great events on May 15: The Kwantlen First Nation Health and Science Information Session, presented by the Kwantlen First Nation in Fort Langley, with faculty members present - Corrie Nichols, Radhika Kumar and Diane Blake.

Faculty of Health also attended Fall Applicant Night - an opportunity for students who have been offered admission to KPU but have not yet accepted their offer, to learn more about available programs, meet faculty and students and attend an information session. Health faculty in attendance included Health Foundations Program Chair, Gurp Chahal, Admissions & Progressions Chair for BSN, BPN and BSN-AE Laurel Tien, and Interim Associate Dean for Health, Dr. Harjit Dhesi


(Mon May 14 2018) - The annual DAISY Awards took place in the foyer of the South Building at KPU Langley on May 14th. The DAISY Awards were created to identify and honour the extraordinary efforts and hard work of individual Nurses. This year was the first year that Nursing students took part in the DAISY Awards with their special DAISY in Training Award, meant to honour one especially notable Nursing student. 2018 award recipients were GNIE instructor, Jeanine Hadfield, and Nursing student Zian Batulan. KPU Nursing faculty and students were also joined by DAISY Foundation representative Melissa Barnes, Vice President of Operations and Regional Program Director for the West and International.


(Sat May 12 2018) - The KPU Faculty of Health took part in the Science Rendezvous/Langley Open House. Health opened it's South Building doors, where attendees were treated to heart and lung sounds on Health's Patient Simulator, a balloon artist, popcorn and tours of our Nursing and SIM labs. The day was enjoyed by all who came!

(Fri May 4 2018) - Meg Goodine, Manager Learning Technology and Leeann Waddington conducted a hands on presentation/workshop on course design on May 4th at the KPU Teaching & Learning Symposium. Faculty were encouraged to attend the session if they were teaching something new, wanting to update an existing course or considering a blended approach.


(Wed May 2 2018) - The Health Care Assistant Program faculty and student collaborative project and poster presentation was presented at the KPU Teaching & Learning Symposium on May 2nd. The presentation was titled Person Centered Approach in Dementia Care: Connecting through Life Stories. Project collaborators included Pardeep Thandi, Tarnvir Takhar, Sharon Leitch and Judith DeGroot.
