Mohammad Akbar
Mohammad holds a Ph.D. Degree in Economics from the University of Essex, UK (2001), a Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Science (MS), and Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degrees in economics from the University of Karachi, Pakistan (1981-987). Mohammad is an accomplished economist with 20 years experience of teaching and research. Areas of interest in teaching include: micro, macro, financial markets, development economics, and international economics.
He is also an experienced applied researcher with numerous published articles in internationally refereed journals. He has written a number of newspaper articles on contemporary economic issues. Mohammad has worked for international financial institutions and bilateral donors on various projects. His areas of interest in research include globalization, international trade, development, poverty, and terrorism.
Mohammad has produced and hosted a number of TV talk shows on contemporary economic issues in Pakistan. He also worked as a broadcaster and contributor at British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London for three years. Before joining Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Mohammad taught at SFU as a limited term lecturer. He loves cricket, tennis, classical music, and his family.
