(METRO VANCOUVER, B.C.) Kwantlen Polytechnic University received a $10,000 contribution from the City of Langley to establish an endowment fund that supports and encourages Langley residents to pursue university education at Kwantlen. The endowment fund will award bursaries in the amount of $1,000 to first-year Langley students who are in financial need.
“We are proud to have a Kwantlen campus in Langley. We recognize the importance of post-secondary education and we’re delighted to be working with Kwantlen, a vital member of the community, to provide first class education to Langley’s vibrant and fast growing community,” commented Langley Mayor Peter Fassbender.
This contribution from the City of Langley recognizes and reaffirms Kwantlen’s long-term commitment to serving the educational needs in the South Fraser region.
“We are pleased that the City of Langley has chosen to support Kwantlen and education,” said Jeff Norris, executive director of the Kwantlen Foundation. “This gift will undoubtedly enhance the quality and accessibility of university education in Langley, and help young people acquire vital educational and career skills to become successful leaders and contributors to society.”
The Kwantlen Foundation was established in 2000 and raises funds in support of Kwantlen students, projects and programs. For more information or to make a donation, visit kwantlen.ca/foundation or call 604-599-2010.
