Thanks to a $50,000 donation from HSBC Bank Canada, Environmental Protection Technology (EPT) students at Kwantlen Polytechnic University will forever be rewarded for their passion for the environment.
The donation will be used to establish an endowment fund, which will provide—in perpetuity—a $2,500 annual award for a first-year EPT student who demonstrates community service and financial need.

We are especially pleased that this award will support students that share our commitment to the environment.”
“I’m really enjoying the program,” said Kimberley Forsythe, a first-year EPT student currently on a co-op placement with EHS Partners, a Calgary-based firm focused on finding solutions to environmental and occupational health and safety problems. “I’ve always been passionate about the environment and this program was the perfect fit. On behalf of the students studying EPT at Kwantlen, I want to thank HSBC Bank Canada for their generosity and for supporting such an important field of study.”
Kwantlen’s EPT program is a two-year diploma program that prepares students for technical work in the environmental field. Courses and two paid co-op work terms give students practical knowledge and experience in environmental protection technology, impact assessment, waste minimization and management, air and water pollution monitoring and control, and contaminated site investigations.
