Eagles signs four recruits


Kwantlen's Department of Athletics and Recreation is pleased to announce that Hilary Andow (Richmond), Melina Gomez (North Vancouver), Tiffany O'Krane (Surrey), and Norma Sheane have all committed to the Women's soccer team for the 2010-2011 season.

Andow played midfield and striker for R.C. Palmer, and was named Top Athlete while she was in grades 8, and 10-12. She had also won awards in high, long, and triple jumps. Andow's goal is to play for the Canadian National Women's Soccer Team one day.

Gomez played Goalie for Carson Graham, and was named Athlete of the Year in 2007. She was a member of the Provincial U17/ U16 Championship team in Burnaby, as well as the 2008 National U-18 runners up team.

O’Krane was an all-around athlete for Fleetwood Park Secondary, where she played midfield and defense. She was named Athlete of the Year, as well as MVP of her soccer team at her school from grades 8 to 11. She was also a member of the high school girls National Championship Volleyball team in 2007.

Sheane played central defender for U18 United for Burnaby, where they were the Nationals Finalist in 2009. She was also a member of the U17 Provincial Championship team in 2007, as well as the U17 Las Vegas Tournament Champions team in 2008.
