Langley municipalities show support for Kwantlen Farmers Market

(METRO VANCOUVER, B.C.) Community grants from both the City of Langley and the Township of Langley are helping this year's Langley Community Farmers Market provide a wonderful opportunity for customers to meet local Langley farmers who grow healthy food in sustainable ways. Taking place at the Kwantlen Polytechnic University Langley campus, this market brings high quality ‘make it, bake it or grow it’ goods to the community.

“It is great news that both Langley municipalities have provided an opportunity for all of us to work together on this successful project," commented Gary Jones, Kwantlen horticulture faculty and president of the Market Society.

Langley Community Farmers Market Society (LCFMS) is a non-profit organization that organizes the Farmers Market operating on the Kwantlen Langley campus. It contributes to the economic viability of local farms and businesses, allows producers and customers to interact and provides public education about food security and availability.

The Market opens for the 2010 season on Wednesday, May 26 at 3:00 pm. For more information visit the website at: http://www.langleycommunityfarmersmarket.com/
