Kwantlen Students Coordinate Coat Drive

METRO VANCOUVER, BC – (December 5, 2011) – Kwantlen's second annual coat drive is well underway. The event is coordinated by Kwantlen's PAT (President's Ambassadorial Team) and all donations will go to the Front Room, a drop-in shelter in Surrey, as well as the Langley Boys & Girls Club.

The PATS are encouraging Kwantlen students, staff and community members to help make this winter warmer for someone by dropping off new or gently used coats. Drop boxes are located in all Kwantlen campus libraries from now until December 16.

To coincide with the coat drive, the PAT is hosting Christmas bake sales at each campus, offering free coffee and tea with every donation. All money raised will go towards buying new gloves, toques, socks and underwear for the two deserving organizations.

The Presidential Ambassadorial Team is a group of fifteen outstanding Kwantlen Students from all disciplines who work directly with the President and the President's External Affairs Advisor publically representing the university. These students, among other characteristics, have a keen interest in community advocacy and volunteerism and volunteer a minimum of five hours a month as well as maintaining their full-time studies.
