Metro Vancouver, BC … Ali Bosir, men’s basketball and Amber-Lee Kavanagh, women’s basketball, are the KPU Eagles Athletes of the Week, for the week ending January 12, 2014.
Bosir, a fifth year forward from Surrey, BC led KPU in scoring with 14 points on Friday night against Camosun College Chargers and scored 18 points overall on the weekend. In addition, the veteran forward pulled down 19 total rebounds on the weekend, including a team high 14 against Camosun, also recorded 6 assists.
The Eagles lost a heartbreaker to Camosun on Friday, 81-79, and lost to VIU, 96-45, on Saturday, the team is currently 1-9 in the PACWEST conference of the CCAA.
Kavanagh, a second year forward from Langley, BC, scored 17 points on the weekend, including a team high 12 points against VIU on Saturday. Kavanagh also recorded 15 total rebounds and 6 assists in the 56-42 loss to Camosun and 67-44 loss to VIU over the weekend. The Eagles are in a race for one of three playoff spots with three other schools. They currently are 3-7 in the PACWEST conference of the CCAA.
