KPU Eagles first-year goalkeeper, Meelu, not only earned the first shut-out of her university career, but made several key saves in Sunday’s match versus VIU to end the Mariners’ four-game winning streak. Among those saves, Meelu stopped two direct kicks from last week’s PACWEST ATOW, Bronte Fitzsimmons. Meelu’s work today helped to improved KPU’s record with VIU as the Eagles lost game one to the Mariners’ 4-0 two weeks ago. Head Coach Julie King describes Meelu as an involved player who not only makes saves, but also directs the backline, and delivers strong leadership for the team."Simran brings a dimension to the game that not a lot of other goalkeepers can", said Coach King, "She is a terrific goalkeeper with great strength, she knows the game and can make solid decisions for us out on the pitch."

Rose, Surrey, BC, is in his fifth year with the Eagles golf team and is a previous 2014-2015 'Athlete of the Week' winner. Rose continues to lead his team and over the weekend in PACWEST Tournament 3 Rose shot 142 to tie for sixth in the tournament. In the current cumulative PACWEST league standings Rose sits at fourth overall with a score of 439, just six strokes behind first place. "Thomas has played very steadily over Tournament 3 on a tough course that tested the players ability to control the ball flight and adjust for strong winds and undulating greens," stated KPU Eagles Assistant Golf Coach John Shin, "Thomas' skill and consistent play validates that he is one of the Top 5 players in the conference and the team and I are proud of his performance."
