Surrey, B.C. – It’s like window shopping for your future.

As part of a new partnership between Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) and Guildford Town Centre, the university is hosting a KPU Showcase on Thursday, Feb. 19 in the mall upstairs near Starbucks, from 3 to 8 p.m.

“We are thrilled about our community partnership with Guildford,” said Joanne Saunders, executive director of marketing and recruitment at KPU. “KPU’s presence here as the largest post-secondary institution south of the Fraser, in one of the fastest growing cities in Canada, creates an ideal relationship for us with the largest regional shopping centre in the same area.”

The inaugural KPU Guildford Showcase will provide opportunities for prospective students and their parents to speak directly with current KPU students and faculty, ask questions and gain more information about the university’s unique programs and services. This free, family-friendly event will include exhibits from KPU’s faculties, great prizes and a chance for one lucky winner to walk away with a $500 tuition waiver.

“This sponsorship is a fabulous example of reaching the correct demographics and working together in the community,” said Peggy Howard, general manager at Guildford Town Centre.

Guildford, which recently underwent an extensive renovation and redevelopment, sees almost 14 million visitors annually. Since 2013, the mall has increased its space to 1.2 million square feet (more than 110,000 square metres), making it the shopping destination for residents throughout the Lower Mainland.

The KPU Guildford Showcase is from 3 to 8 p.m., on Thursday Feb. 19 in the mall upstairs near Starbucks in Guildford Town Centre, 10355 152 St. Surrey.

Kwantlen Polytechnic University has been serving the Metro Vancouver region since 1981, and has opened doors to success for more than 250,000 people. Four campuses—Richmond, Surrey, Cloverdale and Langley—offer a comprehensive range of sought-after programs, including business, liberal arts, science, design, health, trades and technology, horticulture, and academic and career advancement. Over 19,000 students annually have a choice from over 124 programs, including bachelor’s degrees, associate degrees, diplomas, certificates citations and apprenticeships.
