Metro Vancouver.....The KPU Eagles Department of Athletics and Recreation is proud to announce that this year's Spring pre-season exhibition varsity soccer tournament will sponsored by the Kwantlen Students Association (KSA), and will take place from February 28-March 1st 2015; the first day of the tournament will run in conjunction with KPU's Surrey Campus Open House.
This is the second year KPU will host it's Spring Soccer tournament, which has expanded from last year's men's tournament to now include both women's and men's teams. The KPU Eagles (PACWEST, CCAA) will welcome teams from Simon Fraser University (women - GNAC, NCAA Div II), UBC-O (women - Canada West, CIS), the University of British Columbia (men- Canada West, CIS) and Thompson Rivers University (men - Canada West, CIS), and the University of the Fraser Valley (women and men - Canada West, CIS).
David Kent, KPU Eagles director of athletics and recreation, is pleased with the partnership with the KSA as both departments work to further promote students' engagement with their university. "By scheduling both KPU teams during the Open House, we are able to showcase varsity athletics to students who may become student-athletes, fans, or even student-employees with our department," Kent stated, "We are pleased to work in collaboration with the KSA to showcase just one of many ways to connect with the university, to get involved, and to develop skills beyond the classroom."
