Surrey, BC - Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) was well-represented at the Surrey Board of Trade’s annual Women in Business Awards, taking two of the top honours.
Dr. Jane Fee, KPU’s vice provost, students, won in the Professional category, while Hanne Madsen, who sits on KPU’s Board of Governors, won in the Corporate/Leadership category.
Fee has been a leader in the post-secondary education sector for more than three decades. Her expertise is in the administration of post-secondary learner-focused programs and services, and student success. Her specialties include student affairs, new student transition to first year, student support, and program development. She has served on university and community-based boards at many operational and academic levels.
Madsen, who was appointed to KPU’s Board of Governors in 2014, is the chairwoman and facilitator of GroYourBiz, a peer-to-peer advisory board for women business owners, senior managers, and entrepreneurs. Madsen uses her more than 20 years of experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, operational and human resources management to assist women in overcoming challenges, leading them to develop innovative action plans and providing them with support, training, and expert advice.
