Metro Vancouver.....KPU Recreation and Active KSA are pleased to announce 'Just 4 Fun' as the winners of the 2015 KPU Rec/Active KSA 'March Madness' 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament held at the KPU Eagles' Nest on Friday, March 20th 2015. This was the final tournament of the 2014/15 academic year and it was a sold-out affair with eight participating teams vying for supremacy. Registration was free of charge, and each participant was given a KPU March Madness t-shirt. Thank you to all who came out to participate or watch, it was an intensely competitive afternoon.
Tournament Champions, Just 4 Fun, were undefeated throughout the tournament and took home the coveted gold KPU Rec champion t-shirts and gold medals, along with gift cards, Adidas string bags, and a 2015 Kwinten the Eagle bobblehead.
Silver medals were awarded to Team F.R.I.E.N.D.S, made of alumni of the KPU Eagles men's basketball program whose only losses were at the hands of Just 4 Fun. F.R.I.E.N.D.S left the tournament each with a Adidas string bag, water bottle, and KPU Rec t-shirt.
Bronze medals were awarded to Team Big Gucci Sosa and was comprised of current KPU Eagles men's basketball players and a KPU Athletics student assistant. The team were awarded a KPU Rec water bottle and shirt.
KPU Rec and Active KSA also held a Bump Game as the mid-tournament contest. Congratulations to Bump winner Matt Cooley who won a gift certificate courtesy of Big Kahuna and a KPU Rec t-shirt.

The KPU Eagles Department of Athletics & Recreation enters its 14th season of interuniversity competition. The Eagles are members of the PACWEST conference and play in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) with 100 student-athletes participating on eight varsity teams in men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, badminton and golf. KPU athletics plays its home games at the Eagles’ Nest (Surrey Campus), Northview Golf & Country Club, Newton Athletic Park, all located in Surrey, BC. The Eagles are active in the conference with staff members on various advisory committees and competing to host both provincial and national championships. The student-athletes are mainly from the lower mainland but KPU’s rosters have included student-athletes from North America, South America, Asia and Europe.
