Surrey, B.C. – This Friday, bring your own perspective to a 12-artist showcase at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU).
The Thirteenth Perspective will feature the work of a dozen graduating KPU fine arts students. Held annually, this year’s event will feature a diverse array of mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation and mixed media works.
“To me this art show means that something I’ve worked hard at is finally completed. It’s a celebration and a way to show everyone that has supported me what I can do and my gratitude for that support,” said Surrey resident Miriam Severson, whose photography will be displayed at the show.
“This show is a celebration of what we all have accomplished, and is a stepping stone to what comes after.”
Inspired by her mother, Severson says film photography has allowed her to visually represent emotions in different ways. It’s also her outlet, helping her work through and reflect on her maternal relationship.
Visit KPU Tech Friday, April 17 at 6 p.m. to explore engaging, thought-provoking and inspiring works like Severson’s.
