Surrey, B.C. – The Kwantlen Polytechnic University Marketing Association's (KPUMA) second annual marketing mixer gave over 120 students the chance to network for their futures.
The insightful event gathered students, soon-to-be graduates and industry professionals who shared insights about careers in marketing.
“The feedback from this event has been so overwhelming and the team and I are happy to have been able to provide such opportunity to our fellow students. It would not have been possible without the help from the School of Business, the marketing faculty, the KSA, and the relentless work from the KPUMA executive team,” said Vanessa Mora, president of the KPUMA.
The event was held at the KPU Surrey conference centre. Attending companies included Jelly Digital Marketing & PR, Ritchie Bros, Market One Media Group, Studiothink, Kirk Marketing and more.
“It was so great to be there – the event was seamless. Turnout was great, organization was awesome, and there was really valuable discussion between students and employers,” said Amaan Fazal, social media coordinator at Jelly Digital Marketing & PR.
Events such as these are what positively contribute to the future career of KPU students, and making connections and realizing opportunities is a crucial aspect of the KPUMA.
"The KPUMA networking mixer event was an incredible event that brought together local industry and students. The event was both exciting and engaging, where students had the opportunity to network with industry leaders in marketing, and local employers were able to share their learnings and provide guidance to the students," said Rajinder Singh, KPUMA faculty advisor.
