Surrey, B.C. — Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) students will benefit from a $22 million federal-provincial infrastructure investment.
The Government of Canada’s Post-Secondary Institutions Strategic Investment Fund and the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education are jointly funding a renovation of KPU’s aging Spruce building.
The renovation will extend the life of the 3,417 square-metre building, reduce energy consumption, increase the capacity for innovation, maximize existing space, and enhance applied research, training and experiential learning opportunities.
“This investment by our federal and provincial governments attests to their support of our ambition to meet the needs of the scientific, creative and cultural sectors, which are all important and growing aspects of the B.C. economy,” said Dr. Alan Davis, president and vice-chancellor of KPU.
