Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) has been named one of BC's Top Employers 2024 for the fourth year in a row.
The annual competition recognized KPU for celebrating employee achievements, family-friendly benefits, and campus environment.
KPU celebrates its employees' professional achievements through several awards, including distinguished leadership and teaching awards for faculty and team service, along with justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion awards.
“I am so proud that KPU has once again earned this recognition as an exceptional place to work. KPU’s success is directly attributable to the incredible work of our employees, and we are committed to continuing to provide an exemplary workplace where employees can thrive personally and professionally,” says Laurie Clancy, Vice-President, Human Resources at KPU.
KPU was also selected for its family-friendly benefits, including maternity and parental leave top-up. This includes up to a 75 per cent salary top-up for mothers, and parental top-up for fathers and adoptive parents. The university's perks of a campus work environment were also highlighted, such as a cafeteria with healthy menus, outdoor seating areas, and nearby walking trails, and the athletic centre with a variety of instructor-led workout classes.
BC's Top Employers is an annual competition, organized by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers. This special designation recognizes B.C. employers that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
Employers are evaluated on workplace environment and atmosphere, benefits, training, and skills development, performance management and community involvement, among other criteria.
In previous years, KPU has also been recognized for its public commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, retirement planning assistance, and flexible response to the pandemic.
