Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) welcomes the public to get inspired by exploring a range of diverse programs at the university’s annual open house at KPU Surrey on Oct. 5.
“Visiting Kwantlen Polytechnic University is one of the best ways to learn more about the university and the student experience on campus. Prospective students and their families will have a chance to explore many exciting programs and modern campus amenities while taking a step toward building a future at KPU,” says Dr. Alan Davis, President and Vice-Chancellor at KPU.
Open house guests will be able to explore programs and get to know instructors, advisors, current students and staff. Guests can also tour the campus, visit labs, enjoy live entertainment and participate in hands-on demonstrations.
Some of the many featured activities will allow participants to try pottery, use a printing press, experience virtual reality technology, use a three-dimensional scanner, test blood pressure, see a patient simulator in action and solve an electrical door challenge. More fun can be had in games of memory, beanbag toss, giant chess and a social media scavenger hunt. A photobooth will offer guests a memento from the day.
The event also features numerous giveaways, with prizes that include tuition waivers, a Samsung Galaxy tablet, AirPods, a Coca-Cola prize pack and a four-pack of BC Lions tickets.
KPU has more than 140 programs available across eight faculties and schools, located across five campuses, all in the Metro Vancouver region. The university offers a diverse range of credentials — including bachelor’s degrees, apprenticeships, diplomas, certificates and citations — designed to meet the evolving needs of regional and global employment markets. Post-baccalaureate and graduate diplomas further enhance opportunities for working professionals to augment their knowledge and skills.
The KPU open house takes place Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at KPU Surrey, 12666 72 Ave. The event is free to attend. Guests are asked to pre-register on the KPU website.
